Tibzaa

TIBZAA is an innovative Agribusiness Social Enterprise based in the Northern Region of Ghana - Tamale. Tibzaa mission is to address the social and economic needs of selected communities using a sustainable agribusiness model that creates and accelerates employment and income generation for women and youth in the Northern Region of Ghana.
Tibzaa partners with underdeveloped communities with the goal of attaining self-reliance and sustainability in agricultural production and processing. The core areas are crop production, mechanisation services, input provision and skills enhancement through the implementation of an ‘Outgrower Scheme’. The scheme focuses on training, production, processing and marketing of groundnut, soybean, maize, sorghum and cowpea. The company provides mechanisation, input supplies and GAP’s services to women and youth farmers of soybean, maize, sorghum and cowpea. We have machinery for processing groundnuts, maize and soybean into animal feed from our 32 tonnes per day capacity feed mill (in 24hrs).

We partner with MoFA and have over the years worked in building capacities of outgrowers. Through this partnership, Tibzaa has allocated an office space to Northern Outgrower Business Network – NOBA for its administrative and meetings. NOBA is part of a Network of Outgrower Businesses who provides support to small holder farmers.

Tibzaa also provides agricultural training opportunities to five (5) Senior High Schools with over 1,500 students in the Tamale Metropolis annually. We collaborate with Dabokpa Technical Institute (DTI), Tamale Technical Institute where their final year Agric students get trained in mechanisation at the premises of Tibzaa. Over 250 students have been trained so far and we are looking at incorporating Agribusiness into the hands-on curriculum.

Our international partners (annual visits) include University of St. Olaf - USA, State University of New York (Genesoa) and Ontario University - Canada, World University Service of Canada among others in the areas of community development, agricultural extension services and cross-cultural exchanges.
